My name is Wendy Doerr and I am proud Owner / Operator of Focused Business Services. For the past six years I have been providing multi-level VA services from my home office in Newberg, Oregon. I bring to the table over 20 years of work experience serving as an Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, Web and Graphic Designer and Entrepreneur. During this time I have had the opportunity of being involved with a diverse range of trades including; Public Safety, Labor Unions, Non-Profit, Medical Insurance, Construction, Retail and various business start-ups. 

Professional Experience

My work experience began at an early age in retail sales working for a home décor retail business. This unique creative experience provided me with an appreciation and foundation of responsibility, entrepreneurship and top-notch customer service skills. In pursuit of expanding my professional skills; I moved on and continued as an Administrative Assistant for an A/C & Sheet Metal Construction Company, for three years.

Next arose an opportunity for excellent professional growth when I accepted a position as Office Manager for a medium sized Professional Firefighters’ Union. For six years (1998-2004) I worked hand-in-hand with an Executive Board and membership of Professional Firefighters. The scope of my job duties was vast and included; Medical Insurance, PAC and Charity Fund Administration; Web Design, Graphic Design, Bookkeeping, Retail Sales, Purchasing, Event Planning and the list goes on.

Through my work at the Union and my creative nature, I found myself intrigued with the emerging Digital Arts field and wanted to sharpen my abilities. I enrolled myself into a Web and Graphic Design Certificate program that I completed at Learning Tree University in 2002.

While my career was flourishing, my personal life did as well and opportunity led my family to move from California to Oregon. Gratefully, I did not have to say goodbye to my much loved job at the Firefighters’ Union, thanks to technology. For the past six years I have continued to serve the Firefighters’ Union along with other clients as a Virtual Assistant. As a VA I am able to provide the same friendly, dependable, organized and proficient business services from my home office to yours. 

In 2009 I founded and organized an annual “Indie” Arts & Crafts Show that showcased 35+ Artists, Crafters and Designers at our local Drive-In Theatre.
